A Brand Identity Design That Looks as Old as the Craft Itself

Wild West Brewery needed a visual world that felt genuinely earned — not designed, not nostalgic, but real. First Launch built it from palette to packaging.

About the Brand & the Brief

A complete brand identity built for character, not just recognition.

Wild West Brewery is an old school themed resto-bar built around the craft of beer and the character of a vintage, modern-rustic environment. The concept combines multi-cuisine food with an expert selection of craft beers, served in an ambiance that draws from the visual world of the American West — weathered wood, worn leather, cast iron, and the unhurried confidence of a place that has been there for a long time and intends to stay.

Brewery and craft beer brands occupy one of the most design-rich categories in food and beverage. The best ones — regardless of their actual age — look like they have existed for decades. They carry visual authenticity: the sense that the brand grew out of the product and the place rather than being applied to it by a designer.

The brief was to build a complete brand identity system that felt genuinely old school — not nostalgic pastiche but a cohesive visual world with its own personality, consistency, and character — and to demonstrate how that identity would apply across the physical touchpoints of a working resto-bar: menus, signage, coasters, and product packaging.

Wild West Brewery is a fictional brand concept created by First Launch as a learning exercise to demonstrate brand identity design capability in the food, beverage, and hospitality category.

How the Identity Was Built

Three interlocking elements — palette, typeface, and logo mark — designed as a unified system, then extended across every physical touchpoint.

01
Colour System — Earth and Ember
  • Deep Mahogany — aged wood, dark ale, worn bar surfaces
  • Sandstone — exposed brick, parchment, warm ambient light
  • Dark Charcoal — structural, grounding, authoritative text
  • Three colours that together read as earth and ember
02
Typography — BOULDEN
  • Bold, high-character slab-serif typeface
  • All-caps treatment throughout the entire system
  • Visual heritage of western letterpress printing
  • Every headline feels carved, not digitally set
03
Logo Design — The Seal
  • Circular badge — the craft brewery heritage format
  • Central beer mug with foam as the focal icon
  • WILD WEST arched top, BREWERY across the bottom
  • Two flanking stars completing the composition
04
Applications — Full System
  • Menu design — rustic, legible, brand-consistent layout
  • Storefront signage — wooden and backlit metal formats
  • Beer coasters — two colourways, minimal circular design
  • Product packaging — bottle labels and custom caps
“
A brewery brand that looks designed — obviously, mechanically, without genuine character — fails the most basic test of the category.

What This Work Demonstrates

A complete brand system built to the same standard as a live commercial engagement.

Brand identity for a hospitality and craft beverage concept is a discipline where authenticity is everything. The visual world of craft brewing, old school bars, and heritage food and beverage rewards restraint, material thinking, and a deep understanding of the visual conventions that make things feel real rather than manufactured.

First Launch's Wild West Brewery identity demonstrates the capability to build a complete brand system — from logo mark and typeface through to menu, signage, coasters, and bottle packaging — that holds its own against genuinely established craft brewery brands. Every element was designed with the same rigour and creative intent that a real commercial client would receive, making this portfolio exercise a direct demonstration of the quality First Launch brings to brand identity work in the food, beverage, and hospitality category.

First Launch is a full-service digital marketing agency in Bangalore delivering brand identity design, logo design, menu design, packaging design, collateral design, and digital marketing for restaurants, bars, breweries, café concepts, and hospitality businesses across India.

  • Brand identity design for a brewery or bar covers every visual element that gives the business its distinct character — the logo, colour palette, typography, menu design, signage, packaging, and collateral. Done well, it makes a venue feel like it has always existed and belongs exactly where it is. First Launch builds complete brand identity systems for breweries, bars, cafés, and hospitality concepts across India.
  • A complete brand identity system includes a logo mark, a defined colour palette, a primary typeface, and the rules for how all three work together across every physical and digital surface. For a hospitality business like a brewery, this typically extends to menus, storefront signage, coasters, product packaging, and stationery — every touchpoint where the brand appears in front of a customer.
  • Yes. First Launch handles the full scope — from the logo and visual identity system through to menu design, storefront signage, beer coasters, product packaging, and bottle label design. These are part of a single cohesive engagement, not separate projects bolted together. The Wild West Brewery case study demonstrates this end-to-end capability.
  • A full brand identity project — covering logo, colour system, typography, and core applications like menu and signage — typically takes four to eight weeks depending on scope, the number of revision rounds, and how quickly feedback is provided. First Launch works in close collaboration throughout to keep the process efficient without compromising on quality.
  • Yes. First Launch develops fictional brand concepts as learning exercises and portfolio demonstrations to showcase capability in categories where live client work is not yet publicly shareable. Wild West Brewery is one such concept — built to the same standard as a real commercial engagement, demonstrating the depth and rigour First Launch brings to brand identity projects in the food, beverage, and hospitality category.
  • Yes.
