About the Brand
Mymily is a family-centric social media platform built around one insight that most social networks have never addressed: the moments that matter most to a family are rarely the ones that feel comfortable sharing publicly.
The platform positions itself as a virtual home for your real family — a private, dedicated digital space where parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins can stay connected, share intimate everyday moments, and build a living archive of family memories without the anxiety of public exposure. Unlike conventional social networks where family content sits alongside professional connections, acquaintances, and algorithm-driven content, Mymily creates a closed, warm environment that is exclusively for family.
The platform was built around a universal truth: most people, whether or not they live with their family, have grown distant from them under the pressure of work, geography, and the pace of daily life. Important milestones get missed. Private memories — the funny, the embarrassing, the quietly proud — don’t have a natural home on a platform designed for public sharing. Mymily exists to solve exactly this.
The Brief
Mymily is a family-centric social media platform built around one insight that most social networks have Launching a social platform to a new audience always carries a specific challenge: the product only makes sense once you understand the problem it solves. A new user encountering Mymily for the first time needs to immediately feel the emotional gap the platform addresses — the distance from family, the missed moments, the private memories that have nowhere comfortable to live — and simultaneously see how the platform fills it.
For a family platform, this communication challenge is particularly human. The brief for First Launch was to produce an animated video that introduced Mymily’s world to a new audience in a way that was warm, relatable, and emotionally clear. The content needed to work across digital and social channels, reach an audience that spans multiple generations within a family, and communicate the platform’s core proposition without feeling like a product pitch.
The specific creative task was to bring the Mymily family characters to life — a cast of characters that represented the full spectrum of a multi-generational Indian family, making the brand’s world tangible and the platform’s purpose immediately understandable.
The Approach
The Mymily brand characters — Daada, Daadi, Papa, Mummy, Aditi, Anshu, Appu, Sanju, Nikita, Bablu, and Puffy — had already been designed and existed as fully developed source files when the project came to First Launch. The character design work was not part of this brief. What First Launch was tasked with was bringing these existing characters to life in motion — taking the source files, working within the established brand guidelines, and producing an animated introduction video that gave each character personality, warmth, and narrative presence.
This distinction matters creatively. Working with pre-existing characters and brand guidelines is a different discipline from building from scratch. It requires a deep fidelity to the source material — understanding what each character was designed to represent, how the brand’s visual world was intended to feel, and how to animate within those constraints without losing the spirit of the original design. The challenge is not invention but interpretation: how do you take a static character and make it move in a way that feels entirely consistent with who that character is supposed to be?
The animation style and narrative approach were built to mirror the platform’s emotional positioning — cosy, familiar, and private. The visual world of the characters needed to feel like the kind of family you recognise, not an aspirational or idealised version of family life. The warmth had to be genuine rather than performed.
The character introduction format served a dual marketing purpose: it introduced the brand’s visual identity and cast while simultaneously communicating the platform’s premise — a complete family, connected across generations, sharing their world in one place.
What the Production Covered
- Animated brand video produced for Mymily — concept through to final delivery
- Introduction and visual characterisation of all eleven Mymily family characters across three generations: Daada, Daadi, Papa, Mummy, Aditi, Anshu, Appu, Sanju, Nikita, Bablu, and Puffy
- Character showcasing and animation developed in alignment with Mymily’s brand identity
- Narrative structure built to communicate the platform’s emotional proposition — family connection, private moments, multi-generational accessibility
- Video optimised for use across digital marketing, social media, and platform onboarding

The Output
The animated video introduces the Mymily family in a way that makes the platform’s purpose immediately felt rather than simply explained. Each character represents a different family role and a different reason someone might use the platform — from grandparents wanting to stay close to grandchildren they rarely see, to parents wanting a private space for family memories, to children and cousins who want to share without the exposure of a public network.
By making the characters the centrepiece of the brand video, First Launch gave Mymily a visual shorthand that could extend beyond this single piece of content — a family cast that could appear across future marketing, platform onboarding, and social content as the brand grows.
Why Character-Led Animation for a Family Platform
The choice to work with original brand characters rather than generic animation reflects a deeper understanding of what Mymily is selling. The platform is not a product with features — it is a feeling. The feeling of being close to your family even when you’re far away. The feeling of having a private place where the ordinary moments of family life are worth recording and sharing.
That feeling is most efficiently communicated through characters that embody it. A grandparent and grandchild sharing a moment on screen does more in five seconds than a feature list does in five minutes. First Launch built the animation strategy around this principle — use the characters to create emotional recognition first, then let the platform’s value proposition follow naturally from it.
What This Work Demonstrates
Animated video production for a social platform at the early stage of its market introduction requires creative thinking that goes beyond execution quality. The video has to do significant brand-building work in a short runtime — establishing who the brand is for, what emotional space it occupies, and why it is different from existing alternatives.
For Mymily, First Launch delivered a character-introduction video that made a new platform immediately legible to a broad family audience — not through explanation, but through recognition. Families watching this video see themselves in the characters. That is the most powerful form of brand introduction available.
