ikigaiHub is an in-person immersive bootcamp built around the Japanese concept of ikigai — the intersection of passion, skill, purpose, and livelihood. Its programme serves participants from 16 to 60, across every stage of a career. The brand identity needed to hold all of them, equally.
Logo design, visual identity system, application mockups, and logo animation — spanning print, physical programme, and digital contexts.
Understanding the context behind one of identity design's harder briefs.
ikigaiHub is a one-of-a-kind immersive bootcamp experience built around hands-on learning, real projects, and a 360° support system for participants at every stage of their career. The programme is conducted in a physical space with a Japanese-style sitting arrangement — a deliberate environmental signal that this is not a lecture hall. Everyone in the room, regardless of age or seniority, is a participant.
What makes ikigaiHub genuinely distinctive is its audience range: students exploring career options through real exposure before committing; mid-career professionals reconnecting with the practical foundations of their field; and senior executives developing ground-level empathy for how different categories of work actually function. The brand identity needed to find a tone that felt purposeful, warm, and quietly sophisticated — accessible without casualness, deep without hierarchy.
The brief for First Launch was to develop an identity that embodied the ikigai philosophy visually while remaining practical and distinctive across the full range of contexts a physical bootcamp appears in: programme materials, signage, digital presence, and communications directed at participants spanning the entire age spectrum.
Four phases of design work, anchored in the ikigai concept itself.
A complete brand identity system, built to last across physical and digital contexts.
