THREADS IN INSTAGRAM
After much speculation, Meta has finally launched its Long-rumoured Twitter rival on Wednesday, 5th July 2023 and here’s what to know about.
What is Threads in Instagram?
Threads is a Meta-built platform where you can have real-time public conversations and discussions with people.
The newly launched platform is closely connected with Instagram. It let people follow the same people you follow on your Instagram Account.
You can discuss everything – from the topics you care about to sharing your ideas and opinions. You can connect directly with your favourite creators and others who love your content.

How to use Instagram Threads?
You need to download the Threads App from the Apple or Android store. Then log in using your existing Instagram Account. So, you need an Instagram account to access Instagram Threads Feature.
Threads and Instagram are linked services that offer several advantages for current Instagram users. If your Instagram account is verified, that verification will automatically apply to your connected Threads account. This allows you to share content easily across both platforms.
Threads currently supports the ActivityPub protocol, which enables interoperability with other social media platforms. In the future, Threads will introduce new features to help users find threads and creators they are interested in. These include better recommendations in the feed and an enhanced search feature, making it easier to follow trends as they develop in real time.
How is Threads similar to or different from Twitter?

Can Threads beat Twitter?
With 2 million sign-ups in just 2 hours and 5 million in 4 hours, many believe that Threads could take over Twitter. Since all Instagram users already have access to the new Chat platform, Threads has the advantage of attracting existing Instagram users right away.
In fact, Meta only needs one-fourth of its Instagram users to switch to Threads to match the number of Twitter accounts.
When asked if Threads can surpass Twitter in popularity, Zuckerberg said, “I think there should be a public text-based conversation app with one billion+ people on it. It’ll take some time. Twitter had the chance to do this but didn’t succeed. I think we will.”
With a vision to combine Instagram’s best features with a new way to share text, ideas, and thoughts, Threads aims to build a friendly community and compete with Twitter, but people remain divided over whether it can succeed.
